Kimber built the 45th Anniversary 1911 as a limited run of 2,024 pistols marking the company's forty five years from 1979 to 2024. It is based on the Raptor, and the slide is engraved on both sides, reading 45th Anniversary Edition on the right and 1979 to 2024 on the left. Slide and frame carry a distressed finish in the manner of a vintage stone wash, the barrel is TiN coated with a deep target crown, and the grips are black buffalo horn, polished and distressed by hand. Sights are a three dot arrangement. The pistol is chambered in .45 ACP on a five inch barrel with an eight round magazine, two of which are supplied. The package as sold by Kimber includes a Negrini custom case made in Italy with leather accents and a felt lined interior, a barrel bushing wrench, a certificate of authenticity and a 45th anniversary challenge coin. Negrini itself was founded in 1981 at Quistello in Mantua by a competitive clay shooter and became the leading European supplier of cases to the best known gun makers.
