Lot Notes

Polish-production Mosin-Nagant M44 carbine chambered in 7.62×54R, bearing the "circle 11" factory marking that identifies manufacture at Poland's Radom arsenal (Factory 11). The carbine is in excellent overall and mechanical condition, with a bright bore and strong rifling. It is majority matching, with the exception of the buttplate, and retains almost all of its blued finish.

The M44 is the carbine variant of the Mosin-Nagant, distinguished by its shorter barrel and permanently attached side-folding cruciform bayonet, adopted late in World War II and subsequently produced under license by Soviet-aligned states including Poland. Polish M44s marked with the encircled "11" of the Radom factory are a distinct and collectible variation of the pattern. This example presents as an excellent-condition, largely matching Polish carbine with a bright, strong-rifled bore and nearly all of its original finish intact, appealing to both Mosin collectors and surplus shooters.
