This Benelli M4 is a 12 gauge semi-automatic shotgun built and upgraded by TRIARC Systems, and it is new and unfired. TRIARC applied the Cerakote finish and carried out the work, which includes a plus two extended magazine tube, a Midwest Industries M-LOK handguard, a GG&G extended charging handle, an A&S Engineering enhanced trigger guard with an enlarged loading area and ramp, an aluminum follower, a stippled grip, and an enlarged loading port machined into the receiver.
The Benelli M4 is made by Benelli Armi SpA in Italy and carries the United States military designation M1014. Designed in 1998, it won a US Army competition the following year, and in early 1999 ARDEC awarded the M1014 Joint Service Combat Shotgun contract to Heckler & Koch’s US subsidiary for importation of the Benelli M4. It has since been adopted by the United States Marine Corps and armed forces, the United Kingdom and Italy. The action is Benelli’s proprietary auto regulating gas operated system, known as ARGO: a short stroke design using two self cleaning stainless steel pistons just ahead of the chamber, working opposite a rotating bolt, which does away with the more complex mechanisms found on other gas actuated automatics. The standard barrel is 18.5 inches and the shotgun weighs about 8.42 pounds, with civilian versions holding five rounds in the magazine against seven for military and law enforcement guns using two and three quarter inch shells.
