Lot Notes

DOT 1942 G33/40 rifle manufactured by Waffen Werke Brunn I, with the receiver ring marked “dot 1942.” This rifle has standard G33/40 sights without a front sight hood and is fitted with a laminated stock set with left-side sling provisions. The receiver, bolt, and stock are matching. The extractor is unnumbered, marked “S/42,” .
The rifle retains about 30%-40% of its original blued finish, with light scratches on the receiver. It remains mechanically excellent. The bore is partially darkened but retains strong rifling, with small pitting visible in the grooves. The G33/40 is a desirable mountain carbine variant of the Mauser system, and this DOT 1942 example offers strong collector interest through its matching receiver, bolt, and stock, correct sight configuration, laminated stock, and Waffen Werke Brunn production.
