Springfield Armory U.S. Rifle M1 Garand chambered in .30-06 Springfield, serial number 35368xx, placing production in approximately 1945. The rifle is fitted with a Springfield Armory barrel dated 12-44 (December 1944) and is built with all Springfield Armory parts. It retains almost all of its parkerized finish. The stock bears a circle-P proof cartouche and a DoD cartouche, and its buttstock trap holds a cleaning kit and oiler bottle. The bore is mirror bright with sharp rifling, and the rifle is in excellent mechanical condition. It comes with a GI sling.
The M1 Garand served as the standard-issue U.S. service rifle of World War II and the Korean War, produced at Springfield Armory from the late 1930s until October 1945 during the wartime period. A serial in the 3.5 million range corresponds to 1945 production, and the December 1944-dated barrel is consistent with an original wartime configuration.
