Lot Notes

Inland Manufacturing (General Motors) U.S. M1 Carbine, serial number 4981318, chambered in .30 Carbine, in excellent overall condition. This example is fitted with an Inland barrel dated 2-44 (February 1944) and is Blue Sky import marked, identifying it as one of the U.S. carbines returned from overseas and imported through Blue Sky in the 1980s. The bore is a mirror with sharp rifling.

The stock is RMC marked — the maker's mark associated with Rock-Ola stock production — and carries a "BA"-in-a-rectangle cartouche. The carbine comes with one magazine bearing the "KSG" code, identifying Saginaw Steering Gear as the maker. The M1 Carbine was produced in the millions during WWII across multiple prime contractors, including Inland, and remains one of the most collectible and widely shot U.S. martial arms, valued by military surplus collectors for its handling, historical service, and the variety of contractor and rebuild markings found on surviving examples.
