This Chinese Type 56 SKS was manufactured at Factory 26 and is chambered in 7.62x39mm. It has been fitted with a number of aftermarket parts: a Tapco SKS stock in place of the original military furniture, a 35 round detachable magazine, a Magpul MOE vertical fore grip, and a B-Square SKS optic mount. The rifle is mechanically excellent and the bore is mirror bright.
The Type 56 is the Chinese-produced version of the Soviet SKS, chambered in 7.62x39mm and built in large numbers at Chinese state arsenals, Factory 26 among them. As issued, the Type 56 is a fixed magazine carbine with wooden furniture and a folding bayonet, fed by a ten round magazine charged from stripper clips. This rifle is not in that configuration. The Tapco stock, the detachable 35 round magazine, the vertical fore grip and the B-Square optic mount are all later commercial additions, so it is offered as a modified rifle rather than an example in original military configuration.
