It features the massive S&W X-Frame, designed specifically around the power of the .500 S&W Magnum cartridge. The 4-inch configuration offers a compact big-bore hunting or backcountry revolver format while retaining the strength and weight of the X-Frame platform.
The Model 500 is one of Smith & Wesson’s flagship large-frame revolvers and is widely recognized as one of the most powerful production revolvers available. This model features an adjustable rear sight, interchangeable front sight system, internal lock, and removable muzzle compensator designed to help manage recoil and allow different compensator setups for different ammunition types.
