Lot Notes

Soviet Mosin-Nagant M91/30 rifle chambered in 7.62×54R, featuring the early hexagonal receiver and manufactured at Izhevsk in 1930 — pre-war, early production. The rifle has all matching numbers and is in like-new condition, appearing likely unfired, with a mirror bore and sharp rifling. It comes with a bayonet.

The M91/30 was the standard Soviet infantry rifle, adopted in 1930 as a modernization of the Mosin-Nagant. The earliest examples were built on hexagonal receivers before production transitioned to the round receiver later in the decade, making an early 1930-dated hex-receiver rifle a desirable variant among collectors. Pre-war Izhevsk production in all-matching, like-new and apparently unfired condition is uncommon and highly sought after, as the great majority of surviving M91/30s were arsenal-refurbished after the war. Complete with a bayonet, this early hex-receiver example presents as an exceptional pre-war Mosin-Nagant with a bright mirror bore, sharp rifling, and matching numbers throughout.
