This is the short-barrel Super Blackhawk, a TALO distributor exclusive built on Ruger's New Model frame. Where the standard Super Blackhawk carries a 5.5- to 10.5-inch barrel aimed at hunting and silhouette work, the 3.75-inch version is set up to be carried: a trail and packing gun that keeps full .44 Magnum power in a revolver short enough to ride in a chest rig or belt holster all day. The unfluted cylinder puts a little extra mass ahead of the frame, and the black laminate grips shrug off weather. Ruger's transfer bar mechanism and loading gate interlock let all six chambers be loaded safely. Sights are a ramp front and a fully adjustable rear, so the gun can be zeroed to a specific load. It also chambers .44 Special for lighter shooting and practice.
