407COMP: one 6 MOA dot, nothing to choose

The 407COMP is the 507COMP housing with a single 6 MOA dot and no circle modes. A 6 MOA dot is big enough to pick up fast at speed, and there is no reticle button to bump mid-stage. It is the least expensive way into the large COMP window. The trade-off is precision at distance: a 6 MOA dot covers about 6 inches at 100 yards, so small, far targets are harder to hold on than with a 2 MOA dot.

Buy it if: you shoot USPSA/IDPA-style stages or run a duty/defensive pistol and want the simplest possible sight picture.

507COMP: the 2 MOA dot with three circle options

Same window, same body — but the 507COMP gives you a 2 MOA center dot and lets you add an 8, 20 or 32 MOA circle around it (Holosun’s Performance Reticle System, earlier listed as the Competition Reticle System). The small dot helps on precise shots; the circle helps your eye find the dot fast when the gun comes up. You can run the dot alone, the circle alone, or both.

Buy it if: you want one optic that can be set up for speed or precision, and you like to experiment with reticle size.

Ronin 507COMP: the simpler dot-and-32 setup

The Ronin 507COMP was developed with Tu Lam of Ronin Tactics. On paper it is the 507COMP body with Holosun’s Multi-Reticle System: a 2 MOA dot, a 32 MOA circle, or both — without the 8 and 20 MOA circle options of the standard 507COMP. Window, battery, weight and footprint are listed the same.

Buy it if: you already know you want the classic dot + 32 MOA circle and prefer fewer modes to scroll through, or you want the Ronin edition specifically.

507 Pro Max: bigger window, adds solar

The 507 Pro Max is the newest member (introduced at SHOT Show 2026). It keeps the 507COMP’s 2 MOA dot + 8/20/32 MOA circle reticle, but the window grows to 1.18″ × 0.98″ — about 21% more glass area than the 1.1″ × 0.87″ COMP window — and it adds Solar Failsafe, which the other three do not have. Holosun also gives it a forward-leaning sunshade to cut glare. The body is slightly wider and taller (1.4″ × 1.38″ vs 1.3″ × 1.3″), so check holster fit.

Buy it if: you want the largest window in the family and the solar backup, and don’t mind paying the most. It is new for 2026, so check the product page for current stock.

Is the 407COMP just a 507COMP with a different reticle?

Yes. Holosun lists the same 1.1″ × 0.87″ window, 1.7 oz weight, 1.8″ × 1.3″ × 1.3″ body, RMR footprint and CR1632 side-tray battery for both. The 407COMP has a single 6 MOA dot; the 507COMP has a 2 MOA dot with 8, 20 or 32 MOA circles.

What is the difference between the Ronin 507COMP and the regular 507COMP?

The reticle. The Ronin uses Holosun’s Multi-Reticle System — 2 MOA dot, 32 MOA circle, or both. The regular 507COMP adds 8 and 20 MOA circle options. Holosun lists the same window, weight and battery for both.

Does the 507 Pro Max fit the same slide cut as the 507COMP?

Yes, both use the RMR footprint. The Pro Max body is slightly wider and taller, so a holster that fits a 507COMP may need to be checked for the Pro Max.

Do any of these have a solar panel?

Only the 507 Pro Max has Solar Failsafe. The 407COMP, 507COMP and Ronin 507COMP run on the CR1632 battery only.
