The M&P M2.0 in 10mm gives the cartridge a modern polymer home. Ten millimeter delivers meaningfully more energy than 9mm or .40, which makes this a sound choice for woods carry and hog country where a sidearm may need to do real work, and the M2.0 frame handles the recoil better than the round's reputation suggests. The 4-inch model is the carry-friendly length in the line, noticeably easier to holster than the 4.6-inch version while keeping full-size capacity.
The M2.0 chassis brings an extended stainless steel frame skeleton for rigidity, an aggressive grip texture, and four interchangeable palmswell inserts to size the grip to the shooter. The slide is cut and plated for a red dot from the factory, so an optic mounts without milling. This example has the manual thumb safety, which some buyers specifically want and others specifically avoid, so it is worth noting up front. The armornite finish on the barrel and slide resists corrosion, and the crisp M2.0 trigger has a noticeably lighter, more tactile reset than the original M&P.
