Remington Rand M1911A1 pistol chambered in .45 ACP, serial number 1280332, manufactured in Syracuse, New York, circa 1943. The frame serial falls within an earlier Remington Rand production block, and the slide is also rollmarked “REMINGTON RAND INC.,” making this a desirable maker-matched frame and slide example. The pistol retains standard U.S. military markings including “United States Property,” “M1911A1 U.S. Army,” FJA inspector mark, P proof, and flaming bomb ordnance marking.
This pistol also shows later U.S. arsenal service history, with RIA marking and an ANAD 10-80 rebuild stamp from Anniston Army Depot, dated October 1980. The FK marking is best described as a likely arsenal or rebuild inspector mark. The combination of wartime Remington Rand manufacture, matching maker slide and frame, intact U.S. acceptance markings, and later Rock Island / Anniston rebuild history makes this a well-marked GI 1911A1 with strong collector interest. Condition is described by the owner as better than reference Pistol No. 1.
