Lot Notes

BYF 44 K98k rifle with numerous eagle stamps and inspection stamps throughout. This rifle is in like-new to excellent condition as refurbished, with all numbered parts matching. It is complete with sight hood and cleaning rod. A small brass tag stamped “18” is attached to the front sling band, adding a distinctive inventory or rack-number style feature.
The BYF 44 code indicates Mauser Oberndorf production in 1944, a late-war period when K98k production was increasingly simplified but still retained many standard military features. This example’s matching numbered parts, visible inspection marks, complete sight hood and cleaning rod, and excellent refurbished condition make it a strong collector-grade K98k.
